Yeah I would think so.......talk to a criminal defense attorney to find out, he might be able to tell you what you can do that you could get away with.
I would also talk to the police, you never know how many victims are out there. Chances are the behavior of this creep has continued and that he is too big in his victims eyes for them to be believed.....the police should be interested enough to look into the matter and find out if there are more recent victims still within the statute of limitations.
Why not look at suing him in civil court.....yeah its risky but it would also bring about some publicity that might bring other victims out of the woodwork. The threat of a lawsuit might even make him offer you something that could help you start a support group for helping other victims of his.....more to look into I know, but probably worth it. That or you just remove him from the planet...which is my personal choice!
to some of the people above me who seem to think molestation stops if you just move on......bs folks, if it happened to you and you didn't speak up you only allowed it to escalate......like these people ever stop.....Renee, get some help....your not healthy about it if you think you don't have an obligation to protect others....to the guy above you.....you don't have to prove it, how the hell do you prove it, pretty f*cking hard from what I have seen. Its the sheer number of people that come forward when ONE person takes a stand that makes the "lack of physical" evidence unimportant. I applaud you Kefer for taking a stand, I can see you aren't doing this for revenge of money, however money is what this guy will understand.
Kudos to all those who are responding with a caring attitude.....molestors need to be dealt with not ignored and not covered up because a person is embarassed, there is nothing to be embarrased about, they are innocent.... |

Go to the police and tell them everything. If he molested you, chances are he's molested other kids and they will find them. It's not too late to report him. It will help you and many others. |

I am sorry to hear this.
Please go to the police and report the abuse. They will provide information about the next step to take.
Good luck |

a lot of it depends on the statute of limitations and if you have proof....also do you really want to re-live the horrific experience again??? |

Your best bet is to just forget it.
Get on with your life and quit thinking about digging up bones from the past. |

You might want to make an anonymous call to your local Division of Child Protective services and ask them whether there's a statute of limitations on child molestation in your state. Several people who were molested by clergy when they were children have successfully sued the predator when they were adults. I think you need closure on this issue and should pursue all lawful means to seek justice. Good luck! |

E mail me his name. I will do free research for you. Then take what I give you plus your story to an attorney. I bet he has a past.
Good luck to you. |

The statute of limitations regarding child abuse has changed, so check with your local authorities to find out exactly what you can do. If you do decide to pursue a case, you'll have to be able to present some believable proof or else it will look like you're only out for money.
Good luck. |

if he wins than he can sue you, it depends on state law too |

I would make 2 visits! One would be to the local police and tell them all you know. Chances are you aren't his only victim. The other visit would be to an attorney for how you can see justice done without retaliation of some sort. He needs to be controlled or your life could be in danger. After all...why do you think so many people are molested and soon afterward killed so they can't tell anyone?
USE EXTREME CAUTION HERE!! I just hope you are 100% certain he's the man!! |

Check on what the "statute of limitations" is in Georgia for child molestation, and if it hasn't expired yet report him to the police! |

If you're very sure on it, contact an investigator like FBI or local police, they might be of some help |

Make sure he really is the person before just telling the world...if you are sure, let him take you to court...what do you care...you will be able to turn it around on him and counter sue for touching you in "not very nice" ways... |

He could sue you if you can't prove it. But I would do it anyway, since the truth needs to be told.
I would not sue him fo money, or poeple will just think that is what you want. I would just let the facts be told.
You should be able to show that he was in the area where it happened. |

you need to be careful. go to the police. has he recognised you?

Get a consultation with an atorney. He can send you down the right path for justice, and maybe some cash too !!! |

I would find these answers from a lawyer within your state or somebody with knowledge of the law. No telling what kind of answers you'll get on Y!Answers. |

It sounds like bitterness is eating you up pretty badly. As a psychology major in college, I have to tell you right now, that reporting it may be a great vendetta, but emotionally, it won't do anything for you.
As the victim, people will label you. As an adult, you will no longer have anonymity. His lawyer will rip you to shreds. Memories from childhood have been proven to be very iffy and unreliable, even as an adult now, his lawyer could make you question your own name.
I would suggest you move after giving an anonymous tip to the police. |
