Basically, you have to chalk this one up to lesson learned. You are out of luck. Yes, you can take the person to court, but you have to prove to the judge that you "loaned" money to this person. And as you stated, you have no proof.
Like I mentioned before, lesson learned! Next time, get something in writing! |

Court wont help as its your word against his. Use this as a lesson in life. You wont do again will you? |

Unless you can find a witness who will say in court that you did give the person a certain amount of money, you can't do much but find a dodgy debt executor! |

If he's the sort of person who doesn't pay debts you have no chance of winning a court case against him.
Look into his social life and work situation and make sure you let everyone know he's a thief. That can be quite effective. |

Learn from your mistake. Unfortunately, you do not stand a chance of getting it back. Even if you were to take him/her to court, it is your word against his/hers, and so you would be out court costs AND the money.
hares...that would not be admissible in court anyway.
Entrigue...This country is not even in a recession, let alone a depression. And, if your idea works (and it might) you never lend them money again...NO MATTER WHAT! |

You can try the small claims court, but as there is no proof, I don't hold out much hope for you getting it back. I think that's a lesson learned. I don't think you're likely to see that money again. |

You could encourage payment the way a loan shark would by promising to hurt them if then don't start paying you back. But kindly note, demanding money with menaces is actually an offence. |

Get him to admit he owes you the amount on tape then take him to court.......if you got him on tape admiting he owes you "X" amount of dollars. you have proof that he owes you.
I made the same mistake too... |

Take him to court. You will probably loose because you haven't got any proof, but there is nothing else you can do. |

No signed promisary note = no proof = no legal recourse...Just never lend anything to this person again and if you lend to anyone else get a signed promisary note detailing when and how repayment is expected. |

Court and please don't do this again. Like the above person said if you don't have any proof - receipt or another person who saw the transaction, good luck. |

Ask him what he needed the money for and then ask him if the amount was worth a friendship. Then tell him he can pay it back $5.00 per week or in any increment that he can afford. Don't get nasty- tell him how you care and sympathize with his need for the money to begin with. Also off him a job working it off around your house or whatever.
This country is in a serious depression and people are scared and doing all kinds of things they would not normally do. The more flexible you are- the worse he will feel and will probably try to make it up to you. Once he has- never lend him money again without a promissory note. |

WITHOUT PROOF? TAKE DIGITAL CAMERA OR IPOD AND PUT IN POCKET AND TELL SOTLY TO HIM AND REQUEST FOR MONEY, IF HE SAY TO GIVE OTHER TIME THAN IT SHOULD BE VOICE RECORD AND TELL THEM THIS IS LITTLE PROOF. AND ALSO SAY HIM THAT IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO GEIVE MONEY , THEN TELL OTHER PERSON ABOUT THIS CHEATING. DO SAME THING WITH HIM |
