Go to the court, explain to the clerk what you did. The clerk will probably set a new hearing. You could possibly be thrown in jail when you go to the clerk. Do it in the morning so you can get a fast hearing.
Explain to the judge what you did and if the judge is nice (most are if you are, some are S.O.B.'s, then he may cut you some slack.
=================
If you wait for the police to come to you to serve a warrant, or get pulled over for it, I can guarantee two things:
It will cost you a hell of a lot more money (car impounded, judge angry, etc)
And it will happen at the worst possible time. Like on your way to your childs birthday party. Or on a hot date with the babe you've had your eye on for months and she finally said yes, and you end up in the slammer because your tail light was out on a Friday night and you can't see the judge till Monday morning. (that is what happened to me)
It ain't worth waiting.

I suggest you not worry about the charges, but more importantly,I feel you should be able to stand up for what you did & take the consequences.Approach the court system before they approach you for not being at the court hearing.LOL |

There is probably a warrant out for your arrest for failure to appear in court. I would call the number on the ticket and arrange something with that court before you get stopped for a defective light or something and get taken to jail for a small ticket. It is best to take care of it before you find yourself in a jail cell with no money to pay for the ticket. |

You better call the county jail and pay the fine. Because one of these days if they stop for whatever reason, they'll will check your license. You will be in big trouble, they'll get you. |

The most important thing is to not avoid this. Call the police station where you got the ticket from, they will guide your steps. |

If you don't know where to go from here, you need to find out. You now have a bench warrant out for your arrest for failure to appear. Better talk to an attorney to find out what your options are before you are arrested. |

Since you missed court there's probably a warrant out for you, the sooner you get it taken care of the better. |

They probably have a warrant out. You can't go just say you forgot(even if it is true or not) because they don't care. Turn yourself in and explain yourself and take the necessary steps to make it go away.
The longer you wait the worse.... |

There should be a phone number on the ticket. Call them. They'll probably tell you to pay the fine plus a penalty. |

Why in the world aren't you calling the court to find out what you need to do? Are you hoping there's some golden way out of this?
Call 'em and meet your fate! Accept whatever's coming to you and move on...make better decisions. |

There is a warrant out for your arrest for Failure to Appear. Go to the courthouse ASAP and clear this up. If you get pulled over for ANY reason and you haven't done that, you will be arrested. Chances are, if you go in there, they will pack on a larger fine than they were going to, but you will serve no time.
Have a friend drive you there, just in case. Look nice. |

The outcome for not appearing in court would more than likely be a warrant for your arrest.... |

Call the court office tomorrow!!! The court administrator will be able to help you to reschedule your court date and let you know what the possible penalties are. You should really try to resolve this right away...Ignoring tickets (even for minor things like parking violations) can lead to warrants and/or a suspended license. You might not know that these things have occurred until you get pulled over and the cop tells you they have to take you into the station. Be very nice & apologetic to the court administrator who answers the phone - they can make it go a lot more smoothly for you.
Don't worry that the fine is going to be a lot of $$ just because it's court appearance required. That happened to me once and the fine was something like $10. It's more important to just take care of it so it's not on your record.
Good Luck!! |
