You haven't heard of all the fraud coming out of Nigeria?
How did this person end up e-mailing you? You would think if that happened to someone, they would call on family and friends for help, not you. Unless you know this girl personallly. In which case I still wouldn't send the money.
But, if you have a big heart and lots of money, consider this.
If I just had an extra $200 every month, I could afford to move into a bigger apartment- can you help me out? I have a job, I just need more money.

Take the advice of the many people on here. This is a scam. Don't send money, don't give account numbers, delete the email and move on with your life. If the girl, however, is your daughter, granddaughter, or someone who you know, then go ahead and send the money - it will make you feel better.

It is so nice to see that there are people out there who are so willing to help others out when they are in trouble. What I don't like, though, is that there are those out there who are willing to take advantage of a stranger's kindness.

How do you know the us embassy address she gave you wasn't a separate email account she set up to respond to questions about the legitimatcy of her story. If you don't know this person,either delete the email or send reply telling her to contact the embassy herself for assistance. That is what the embassy is there for, to assist citizens in trouble in foreign countries.

I would not give a dime. Only if you know her should you help her. If she is a complete stranger do not give anything. It could and most likely is a scam. I receive e-mails from different countries everyday. In the e-mails they try to get personal information from you, or just money. DON'T DO IT.

That is a scam, it was on 20/20 last month... don't be stupid, how can she e-mail anyone if she is broke and has no visa? the embassy would not let her in... I was a Marine Security Guard, without a passport she has no way in, it's a scam don't do it...

Do NOT send her money scams are very common through Nigeria if she is not a citizen of Nigeria then she needs to contact her Embassy , red cross or family do not allow your self to be scammed I know most human iinstinct is to help but more than likely she only wants your money.
