I heard about court assisted rent but I don't know anything about it. I really want to help her out so does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, there is a great legal solution. It is called "employment." It involves "working," so your friend might not like it, but it may enable him to pay her bills. It works for me, and billions of people across the planet! |

Depending on what state you live in, some Social Service departments do offer General Assistance which includes rent, food, employment and/or training assistance. Check with your local Social Service (Welfare) Department. You might also try local church organizations or check online- "rental assistance programs"- (hud, rentgrants.gov,etc.). Your friend can also check with "employment and training programs" to help her find a job for a more permanent solution. |

there is some federal assistance that she can apply for...it is called section 8 housing. There is a pretty lengthy application process, a waiting list, and the property has to be government approved...meaning that the place she lives in at the moment may not accept section 8 payments. But she may be able to get some resourses and information if she needs to vacate.
perhaps friends, co workers and family can come up with a fund, until rent is made, and she is able to get back on her feet. |
