can i file chapter 13 bankruptcy on my own or do i have to get a lawyer?i can't find free or cheep legal help i have 9 days before a sheriff sale and i want file a type of bankruptcy to stop it what is my best option to stay in my home?and can i do anything about stopping it myself.worried broke disabled on ssi homeowner wayne county michigan

In most books, it is right after Chapter 12 and right before Chapter 14.

You wont be able to get your bankrupcy done in 9 days.. alittle too late. Chapter 13 means u will pay back all of your creditors over the next 3-5 years with every extra pennie u have. Why havent u called your mortage co and worked out something with them? If u couldnt make payments b4 on your mortgage what make u think u can now, barring any bankrupcy. Bankrupcy will not make your payment lower. |

Most cases are better suited for Chapter 7. You need to get moving and relate the details to your bankruptcy lawyer. |
