The Police are treating it as domestic violence. I have 2 young children whom i have at the weekends. We have found out recently that 1 of the children is mine and the victims son. If i goto prison i will lose everything, job, flat, car etc, etc.

Not clever to be wise after the event, this will be a matter for the courts, In my opinion you should serve a prison sentence maybe in future you will be a little wiser before and not, again, after. |

If you did commit the crime then enjoy the time !
But if you do goto jail then inside you can get educated and you can learn a trade and then when you get out you will be better off. Be sincere, appologise, decide to be a better person, ask for help in learning a trade or getting more qualifications then use the time wisely and make it a positive thing and rebuild your life and serve the country and community with your new skills ! |

i don't think anyone can say for certain. The fact that it is your first offence will lighten the judgement and the fact that you have pleeded guilty. Ask your solicitor if he has tried or considered plea bargaining this will give you an insight as to what the other side are considering as punishment.
I find it sad that this has come to this stage and feel sorry for the children as they may not be able to see you afterwards.
If for some reason they can you will find yourself probably dealing with social services to show that they are not at risk. |

Make sure you show plenty of remorse and never give the judge any cheek or disrespect. And you should just end up with a fine and community service. If you do it again you will defiantly be sent down . You could easily get 18 months for ABH. |

Im pretty sure ABH is a triable either way offence (ie. you can chose whether its heard in the crown court or magistrates court) If you're certain that you are going to plead guilty, then Im sure your lawyers advised you of this anyway, but chose to be heard in the magistrates court. The maximum penalty they can give you is 1 year in prison and £1000 fine. Compared to the Crown court which is unlimited on both counts, this would be wise if youre sure youre going to plead guilty.
I doubt that they will chose to send you to prison, though they are perfectly able to. You'll probably get a community service order, fine, and possibly an asbo to keep you away form the victim. This is all at the discretion of the court. So in answer to your question, you most certainly CAN go to jail, but I dont believe that you will. Thats just speculative, i dont know the facts of your case. |

most likely not .. but since you seem to beat up women. you should be sent to therapy and counselling. you should also be supervised while you are with your children.
i mean you no offence but what you did is an offence to all men, you are the kind that make it bad for all of us and you are the reason Fathers have little or no rights over our kids.
i am happily married with kids. my wife and i have disagreements but i DON'T hit or harm her in any way and neither does she.
think about it. next time cause you will go to jail then and you'll loose everything. to include your privacy.

Someone i know has just been arrested because of abh.
He was told he'd get either a fine & community service because it's his first offence.
But he has also been told to prepare himself.
ABH can be anything from 8 month - 5 years inprisonment (7yrs for a racial assult)

If its your first offence and you plead guilty,they would take that into account.Im sure you wont go to prison, especially if you show genuine remorse.Id guess on community service or a suspended.Good luck. |

i dont think so, i also think that because you pleaded guilty, any normal sentence that goes with this will be reduced.
Do things that will help in the lead up to the court hearing. Go and see if you can take an anger management course or something similar it will show your remorse, and wllingness to change |
