No, deer are everywhere

Problem Child
yes, because the city is responsible for tracking the whereabouts of every wild deer. Once you file a claim, the city will notify the deer that they must tell the city where they are at all times (like a megans law) The hard part is getting a judgement against a deer. They are elusive and you will have a hard time serving them with papers. If you drive around and look for the deer signs, you will have better luck finding them and serving them the legal papers! They do run fast so wear sneakers!
They have similar laws for fish. The government knows where all fish are at any given time/ That is why there are so few fish/boat collisions.

Man, a lawyer would love you. $ 200.00 an hour to tell you to sue the deer? Have fun!

Ahhh... another AmeriKan that wants to get rich the AmeriKan way... by suing someone... NO... you can NOT SUE a government for NOT BEING IN CONTROL OF YOUR CAR... it would be thrown out of court, if it even got that far.

No they are not responsible. It's between you and your insurance co.

No, but you can charge the mother deer for not properly training the baby deer.

Oh, wait, I just got a fax, the deer has filed with mother nature to have you pay for the loss and suffering of the deer world. You better get a lawyer and some grammar lessons.

In other words, come on. Your risk, take responsibility and have a BBQ.

Depends upon the laws of the nation.

In Germany, you call the guy who is responsible for hunting in that area and he gets the deer, you get your damages paid by his insurance company. That goes back to the concept that the king owns all the game. Now individual Germans bid for the right to "own" the game in a particular area and the responsibilities that come with that ownership.

In the USA, you call your insurance company, pay the deductible and they pay to fix your car. That is because in the USA all game is considered wild and no one owns it. Therefore no one is responsible for what the wild animals do.

That depends on where you live. If you're in a Democrat area then you are not responsible for your actions and you should received a lot of money plus pain, suffering and mental trauma. They will give you millions if it could come from someone besides the government. If this property the deer came from had ever been on property owned by a corporation you can have every penny they've ever made. Since Democrats think Government is perfect they've installed layer after layer of laws that make it impossible to sue the government so you can't get your money here even if you can prove Gross Neglegence. You should definitely spend your time sueing the city.
You won't be on the roads putting society at risk.
Government workers will be busy with this so won't have time to come up with other silly things to do to limit our freedoms.
Another lawyer will be tied up so they can't be causing problems elsewhere.
At the very least this should make the papers and perhaps a nice optomitrist or driving school will offer to help you out to avoid future problems.

I know of plenty people hitting deer...I know of none
getting the city or state to pay for the damage...however,
should YOU own livestock and it gets on the road and
causes damage...if you claim the animal...you pay the
damage! To keep your insurance from raising your
premium, if you can at all, it is best to get your damage
repaired with 'out of pocket money'..it's a one time thing
where your insurance company will charge every time
you make a premium payment.

No. The deer caution signs are posted where deer are known to be sighted. A deer can travel and wind up anywhere so there is no reason for the city to pay. I hope you were not injured.

Since urbanization is forcing deer out of their natural habitats, they can show up anywhere. It is up to you to be in control of your car at all times. Deer are active at sun up and close to sun down. They are especially prone to wandering during mating season in November.
If you had hit a child standing in the roadway, would you still be wanting to sue the city?

You've GOT to be joking.. that or you just started driving recently.
Since you were daydreaming instead of watching the road, you decide to blame the city for not predicting exactly where a deer will jump out in front of your car? You can't train deer in the wild to cross at a sign.
The city is NOT responsible, that is why there is CAR INSURANCE. If you don't have car insurance, then I'd say you're screwed.

Actually I believe you have a very good chance. Just try to find out about the judge you will bring the case before. Judges that are very liberal and want to do things for people rather than uphold the law are quite likely to hear your case. You could actually sue the government that the judge works for and he'll just throw out the law and reason and give you money if he thinks you're a good guy and wants to be your friend. Thats the way the law works, at the discretion of judges.
