I know my adult neice is driving drunk to and from the bars,how do i stop her if im not there?

1- Explain that she has children who depend on her, despite the fact that she wants to act irresponsibly and be immature. She made the decision to conceive and give birth to all three, so she should take responsibility for her life as well as theirs by being more mature. A good role model as her children are apt to idolize her. Where would they be without her? Who would gain custody of them? Would they resent her for going to jail or being killed in a DUI accident?

2- Explain that she could end her life, or the life of another innocent person or persons. In a drunk driving collision there are often victims from the innocent party in the situation. Ask her how and with whom her children would end up if she were to be put in jail or killed in a drunk driving accident. Ask her to consider how she would feel if someone else killed one of her three children in a drunk driving accident? Was careless and thought nothing of taking the life of someone else's child? Now ask her to visualize the families if the potential victims she puts at risk when DUI. Ask her to put herself in their shoes. Its called a CAB or KEYS TO US! Keys to use has two drivers arrive, one takes your keys and drives your vehicle home while the other follows behind to pick up the driver once you and your car are home safely.

3- Have her charged, call the cops. Get her a DUI ticket and a night in jail to do some thinking and reflecting.

4- Get C A S involved, try to take the children from her is she refuses to grow the hell up and play the role of a mother not just act the role!

Unneccissary risks if you ask me... Obvious disrespect and blaint disregard for her children, family, and others in society.

Most importantly, its time to take care of the children... As she CLEARLY is not!

You've tried reason - no joy. Now it's time to look out for the kids. Call the local crisis line for tips on how to proceed in your jurisdiction. Find out what would happen if, for instance, social services was to intervene. In what circs would they do so and what would happen to the kids? Gather this information and present it gently to mom once again. When she hears this, she'll know you mean business. Probably she'll be angry. Explain that you're not judging her but trying to protect the kids while she's going through what must be a difficult period. Clearly there's something prompting such self-destructive behavior. It's not your job to fix it or even understand it but the village must somehow protect the kids.

Unfortunately there really is nothing you can do until she gets caught unless you know where she is and then call the cops when she leaves. They will take her to jail for drunk driving and ticket the bar for letting her leave and drive drunk. Sounds to me like she has a problem and doesn't realize it. And nothing you do short of an intervention is going to stop it. And even that she can walk away from if she is not ready.

You don't. Mind your own business. She will get a DUI eventually and you can say "I told you so." Up until then, there is nothing you can do. She is an adult.

Is there any way that you can talk to her about what time she is leaving the bar and then contact the police? What she is doing is putting her life and the lives of innocent people in danger and she has no right to do this.What kind of an example is she setting for her kids? And if she is drinking this much outside of the home,who is caring for them when she is not home? And what is taking place inside the home? Have you ever tried to point out that she could have a drinking problem? If it were me id contact child services to see if they would be able to help the situation in some way.
