No state has legalized the recreational use of marijuana, not even Minnesota.
What the police do depends largely on what you do. Just how stupid are you prepared to be?

It's illegal in all 50 states. You definitely won't be in as trouble if you had the physical weed, bags, pipes, or any evidence, but you'll still be in trouble for "intoxication". Use eye drops, put away evidence, walk straight, act normal, don't talk that much, and you're good to go.

The Dude.
After laughing at your stupidity, they can arrest you. Just like DWI or "public intoxication". If you make it worth their while. Generally cops have more important things to do than waste time arresting people who get stoned and eat too many oreo cookies.

Under federal law yes, State law varies. But since Federal law presides over state its illegal.

Not sure about specifically not having any paraphernalia, seems to me like they couldn't do anything but drug test you, but I'm not sure. Link has more info

You can be thrown in to Detox if you appear to be under the influence of something but nothing more can come of it that that unless you have some pot on you...
Thats why in movies they always try to eat all the drugs before the cop busts them... If you could get in trouble for doing drugs in the past, then there wouldnt be such a thing as rehab.

It is illegal but based on who Minnesotans vote for (Jesse Ventura and Al Franken) I think most of the state is normally high.

Isreal
duh what are you crazy why would you do that! gosh you weren't given life in order to rune it

If your substance-altered behavior makes you a danger to yourself or others around you in public, then it is illegal. You can be arrested and charged with public intoxication or disorderly conduct, if you are causing a scene. Physical evidence is not necessary in these instances.

You can not be charged with
internal posession in the state of Minnesota

However you can still get a DUI

Hippi
probably just send you home, if you are underage

my friend got community service

if you are at school you could get suspended or expelled

just don't act high

be in control of yourself

that is if you ever get pulled over by the police

Okay. The official answer is.....no they can't do anything to you. Some people don't know law on here! It is not illegal to be high, unless you are driving. Then you can be charged with a DUI. Otherwise, the only thing the can charge you with is possession, paraphenilia, or distribution if you get busted big.

Weed is actually pretty decriminalized in Minnesota. Meaning, if you get caught, the penalties aren't very stiff. Your first will just get you a fine. Just a misdemeanor. It's a weed friendly state.

Tisha
Yep illegal but sadly and dumb enough salvia is totally legal!!!! :(

Azrael
you should be jailed just for living in minnesota, that place is a dump hole, just like canada

Bowen M
They will probably taser you.
