I need a Cop or judge or lawer, hell anyone, to answer...?

Hello, I have a friend that has gotten 3 DUI's in the past year, (one being about 20 min ago) Im just wondering, what the hell is going to happen to her? Im not going to be around to bail her out VERY soon, im moving out of state in like 2 days, and on top of that, im not going to be able to bail her out again cuz i have no more money ( ive bailed her out twice) Now dont get me wrong, she is one of, if not not, my best friend, and i would do anything to help her out, but what can i do?
Additional Details
Im not an enabler, I have tryed to get her help, i took her to the phyc-ward. Ive done all that i could as a friend, and my question wasnt about me or her, the rightness or wrongness of what she did, it was a simple question of what is going to happen to her, and what can i do as a friend. Plus you guys have no right to judge her, or me for that matter, why is it that everyone has there two cents to through in?

Stop bailing her out, your not helping her, your enableing her. She has in her head, everything will be OK because my friend is here to bail me out. Let her go to jail for a while and maybe she will figure it out, it doesn't pay to drive drunk.

let the stupid moron face the music she has created.

If she was YOUR best friend, she wouldnt do the crap she's doing and expect YOU to "BAIL" her out!

move away...very far away...

and, a few days in the jam-box wont kill her. It might even sober HER UP! My god, what if she had killed someone while she was driving DUI? How would you feel THEN?? Some little kid...your grandma....your puppy dog....think about it.

I would stop trying to bail her out and let her suffer the consequences of her actions for a change. Before she ends up killing someone.
Hopefully the judge will recognise the fact that she is in for her third one in a year and at least give her a year or two to sober up.
I lost MY best friend to a sorry drunk after he went out and got hammered one night while out on bail from HIS fourth DUI. He hit my friends car head on at over 90mph. he left behind a wife who was 7 months pregnant, and a 3yr old son.
His momma had made his bail less than 24hrs before the accident.
Thankfully, he recieved a life sentence for vehicular homicide while intoxicated, and his momma recieved a year for allowing him to leave the house that night knowing he had been drinking.

It depends on her judge, your state, all different things. As far as i know, the 3rd DUI is a felony, so she could be in some deep caca, or else, they may let her serve a lighter term, either way, im pretty sure shes gonna go to jail, and after she gets out of jail, shes not going to be eligible for a license again for a long long time, and when she is eligible, she most likely will have to go to AA meetings, and pay a hefty amount to get it back, but she doesnt have to worry about that for awhile.Dont bail her out, she made the mistake, she needs to learn now, she cant always have someone coming to the rescue, let it go, i understand its your friend, but its not your problem, some people need to learn the hard way.

You will do her more good not to bail her out.

She should reflect upon her mistakes inside, else this will never end.

To help her, let her sit in jail and thank god she didn't kill anybody!

You've been a great friend, but if you want to continue
to be a good friend *don't* bail her out again even if
you have the money.

Sounds like your friend has a drinking problem or at
the very least, a problem complying with laws that
everyone else is expected to follow.

One infraction - can happen to the best amonst us.

Two - can be damned unfortunate.

Three - The person charged has a big problem.

Sometimes, some people have got to go as low as they can go, to get up again. To keep bailing your friend out is a type of enabling behaviour - that is; you're making it possible for her to sustain a dependency problem.

Let the consequences unfold.

Be a friend; commiserate... but let the justice system do what it must to curb the behaviour.

I wish you and your friend all the best.

Did you ever think of yourself as an enabler? I think you may have been without intending to be. You can do nothing more for her. Depending upon where you live, she could be looking at some very serious jail time. In Texas, a third DUI is considered a felony. You have been a good friend to her, and so far that hasn't stopped her from repeating her behavior. That she has not already killed herself or someone else is pure luck. Perhaps with a third DUI, the court will at least order rehab. I hope so for her sake and the sake of all she encounters on the road.

busymomkaren
if her state has a 3 strike rule she may have to do time. Many, but not all states have that. As far as bailing her out, maybe you shouldn't. She is not going to learn her lesson if she doesnt suffer some consequesnces. And, if she is such a good friend why isn't she paying you back?

Wow, you're really a good friend. Maybe sometime in the future you can be the pallbearer at her funeral after she kills herself driving drunk. Better yet, if she kills someone else, you can hold her hand and tell her it wasn't her fault.

You need to help your fellow Americans immediately....shove her butt in front of an oncoming train!

Let her sit in jail....learn a lesson

justme
Let her sit in jail and let her figure out that she really messed up this time. Get her "future" mailing address so you can still correspond. It will probably be good for at least 2-4 years.

Ozark Butterfly
I have very strong feeling about drinking and driving. I would leave her sitting there just like I did my dad after I turned him in for it.

alaskamusher2
The best thing is to make her pay the price. Go to jail, pay a fine and maybe sent to rehab. "Bailing" her out again and again and again doesn't help her or anybody on the road around her. In Alaska with 3 DUI in a year shes going to jail for 18-36 months.

For her health and the public safety she needs something to get her attention.

Depends on the state. In my state, a third conviction for DUI is a felony and results in a prison sentence of 2 to 6 years. Bail won't change that, and she will get credit against her sentence for any time spent in jail before conviction. The bail would just mean more time in prison and less time in the county jail, so I wouldn't feel too bad about it.

depends on what state she's in. in my state ur third offense is considard a felony and results in the loss of your license for 2 years, 3 to 5 years in prison, a 250 dollar fine and it costs $600 to get ur license back.

In Wisconsin, the third DUI means a mandatory 12 months in jail and comes to about 9 months total with good time taken off.
So, there you have it. Check to see what the mandatory is in your state.

Sorry, I know it's not the best news, but at least in Wisconsin, that is the way it is.
