i got a speeding ticket but there are a couple mistakes on it.
(1) the ticket says i was traveling west and the location is 8800 standifer gap. however, said road travels mostly north at said location (please look it up on google maps).
(2) the court date on the ticket is on monday the 12th day of may, 2009. however, may the 12th of 2009 is a tuesday.
enought to get it desmissed?

I think you probably can. Most of the time minor errors on a ticket won't get you off the hook, but in most cases listing of the incorrect location will get you out of paying the ticket. That's not exactly the case here, but it's close. At least in conjunction with the incorrect date, you've got a pretty good argument.
In addition, if you show up on the wrong day you might get out as well. First, you won't get into trouble for missing your court date because you've justifiably relied on the information on the ticket. Secondly, if you're in a large enough city that traffic court is held on both Monday and Tuesday of that week, you can argue to have your ticket heard. The cop that gave you the ticket probably won't be there to testify against you.
This isn't a guarantee. You never really know what judges in traffic court will do. I'm just saying you have a legitimate shot. |

I don't think so, you can try of course. But likely the road has a dominant direction such as "West Grant Road" and since the direction of travel isn't likely an element of the crime nor in fact a description of the place where it took I don't this will help you.
The date of the court appearance is clearly an error in terms of when to appear, but it's also not an element of the offense. If he gave the wrong date for the offense, yes you would be home free if you could show it but this is not related to the offense -- if you went the wrong day to court you'd not be introuble but they'd just reschedule your appearance. |
