That is real. I tired the same thing but then I got offered a better job so I never toke it. But basically there is a $100 fee but you get that back if you fail. But it is probably better to get a practice book at your local neighbour hood (border, barnes and nobles...) then go and take the exam at your post office. The book will also tell you more about the post office positions, certain tests will get you different jobs. |

That sounds a bit weird, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if there was a fee, although most federal employers I know of provide at least some sample questions free of charge. I would check these websites to look for jobs:
http://www.usps.com/employment/
http://www.usajobs.gov/
I would be highly skeptical of anything else, at least as far as federal jobs go. |

The fact that you have to take a test is for real, but has nothing to do with the company who is trying to charge you $100.00 for a practice test. THAT is a scam! The test is called a Civil Service exam and is required by anyone who wishes to work for the government I believe. These places cannot guarantee you a job either. they only prepare you for the test which you can do here http://www.pse-net.com/library.htm This site is full of information on these tests. Remember, passing the test only means you are allowed to appy for the job. It is not a guarantee. Good Luck! |

they do that here to I think it is a scam honestly cause every where I go I see that the post office does pay that mch but I dont think you should have to pay for the exam I dunno go into a post office and ask them about it and about when they started working there if they had to pay |

Well, the foreign service charges for the practice exam, though I don't recall it being more than $20. $100 seems high. |

It's a scam So many are. I fell into one with model scouting. I wasn't scammed, but I was scamming others and didn't know it. Be careful. |

It's a scam.
You can get a job with the post office yourself. Go to
www.usps.com and click the link for jobs or careers.
Once there you have to supply your ZIP code of interest and it will show you what tests are open in that area. If there are no tests open you cannot take the test. It will show the carrier, clerk, etc. jobs available in your area and when the test will be given. You supply your name and address and you'll get the test booklet. All for free. :) Good luck. |

Don't do it. I have taken numerous exams for certain jobs and not once have I been charged for practice exams. Something is fishy about that.
I don't think the Post Office operates that way. |

sounds like a scam. i have seen several add's to the post office. i don't think USPS has to advertise employment like that so i always think its a scam. |

Sounds like a scam. The postal service has their own website you can sign up to take the exam (FOR FREE) on. They then send you a packet letting you know the time and date of the exam, and a couple practice tests within the packet to take. Try www.usps.com |

no its not a scam, you must take a civil-service exam for the post office to become a mail man, because its a government job.
ask your mail-man if he paid to take practice exams, if he says no then it prob. is a scam |
