I think we should have stronger penalty's for rape like the death sentence?

not death , some people r innocent and wrongfuly accused , but i think there should be stronger penalties like a life sentence,and none of this getting released early for good behavior

er... I accuse you then...what can't prove you didn't rape me... tough that's the law. My wife represented a Spanish boy who was over here studying for his degree who slept with a woman in her 30's after a party who days later accused him of rape. It wasn't easy to prove he didn't (usually it's impossible) but only after his acquittal was the court told she has done the same repeatedly and can never be named. The law is ridiculous enough w. men being named and women not, not to mention 5% successful prosecution rates are so low due to spurious claims.

Executing murderers doesn't deter other people from committing murder. It won't work for rape, either.

With the prevalence of aids, rape can be a death sentence for the victim. I agree. Punishment to suit the crime.

two wrongs don't make a right. rape is a terrible thing, but is killing someone really the answer to the victim's suffering? it might give a feeling of revenge, but once they're dead, what was solved?

I am a victim of rape and molestation and the first thing that should be done is that when a woman finally has the guts to tell the abuser to stop and she tells the police, something should be done then. The police should have looked into it instead of just saying I don't think that is in our county line. Go the f u c k out where I told you and find out, then arrest the son of a b i t c h.
On the other had as angry as I am about it and hate what has happened to me and countless other victims, it is not in my hands, I am not the judge. I can get just as furious as the next person and think of horrible things to do to people like that but I am in no position to punish anyone. I am not going to have the blood or guilt of taking another humans life on my hands because they wanted to be stupid and cruel.

Look, I'm sorry that I need to tell you this, but a stance like this is incredibly ignorant, no doubt. A lot of innocent people are sentenced to prison time for crimes they didn't commit, particularly minorities. In that way, it's not only ignorant, but also racist. The numbers of people sentenced to death later found innocent of the crime they were killed for are insane.

I completely agree. I'm not usually for the death penalty, but this tyoe of thing is heinous. Because the woman has to live with it the rest of her life.

And it should be the same for child molesters.

Singapore had already imposed caning as a strict punishment.
I feel that other countries following this example is good. Life is too precious to destroy, but a scar at the butt is a good punishment for a scar a rapist causes a woman.

Wouldn't matter...Liberal's would pardon them as they do all death penalties now!!! Punishment must be a certainty for it to be effective.

There should definitely be harsher punishments for people who rape others. I don't think they should be killed, but they should definitely spend more time in jail and/or be castrated!

Perhaps it would not deter more rapists, but it would punish the convicted ones correctly. Rapists loose their liberty when they violate their victims liberty. or just castrate em, that's good too.

if you made the punishment for rape the death penalty, you must think about the unintended consequences of that action. More rape victims would be killed by rapists because the consequences of both crimes are the same... There's a reason why marginal punishment exists.
