My guess would be probation. They are probably more interested in your money than keeping you in jail. Definitely get a lawyer. You are looking at a couple misdemeanors, luckily no felonies. If you have to do a little time in jail, its not that bad - the holding cells are really the worst part.

First offense? Will likely plea bargin if so....I wouldn't worry about doing time. Jails in AL are crowded and first offenders rarely go to jail unless they were involved in some violent incident. Don't sweat it, but be a little smarter in the future. |

if it's your first offense, probably not, but act respectful and remorseful in court. An attitude will get you that time you're afraid of. |

Were you charged with possession or possession with intent for sale? Did they release you ROR or did you have to bond out?
If it's possession, and you have no record you might skate this time. If you've got a record, or they charged you with possession for sale, well, you're going to do time. |

All drugs are not worth doing. Even if they dont cause you trouble now eventually you are gonna pay. Its a dead end road. Please stay sober. Life is much sweeter without addiction. I an 48 and am still paying for my stupidity. Oh if i could go back. But good luck and if you recieve probation make sure you do all you are asked to do. No b.s. |

I dont know the laws in Alabama..but where I live..23 grams isnt a felony...32 grams is..I was charged with a little bit and some papers...so i got two misdemor charges..I hired a lawyer and got them both thrown out. It cost me over $700. A lesson well learned... |

Of course you will do time in jail. you need to get a life, find something good to do with your life, and really make a good contribution as a person to society. we don't need anymore drug users in our country. get a life...clean up your act....dude i wouldn't want to be 50 years old and still on drugs and homeless or dead.....LOL. |

im not sure about alabama law. but, i would say no time unless you have previous charges.
it goes as follows in oklahoma.
any less than 1 oz is just possesion and 1 oz = 28.33 grams
1 oz or over is intent to distribute which is punishable by jail time no more then 6 months i would think.
paraphenalia is a misdiminor so its just a fine and maybe probation and community service.
if it is your first charge i would say 6 months probation some drug classes, some community service and some fines. |

in iowa anything under an ounce and your just looking at maybe 10 days and a fine.
you should be ok since it seems there was no intent to deliver and a one hitter suggest it was for personal use only
but the only way to be sure is to wait and see around here it really depends on the judge and his mood that day |
