A prenup is not good enough or what? My manjust asked out of know where to sign tenency paper too! What is up? I just don't feel good about it. I AM modern and cool with signing prenup, but not the way he just brought it up about the t.papers.
I said well lets do a fair trade. He still won't delete this one chick he told he was single. I told him to tell her. He is waiting for me to maybe not say anything for like a month or two so he does not feel pressured. But come one, isn't that immature? I think so! Do you?
I just like to be a little traditional, and since we have been living together for one year already, its just out of left field to sign the tenanency papers.
I have paid rent, but since I have quit and worked for him I have not paid in cash, he just took it off my check. so now he sais that I havent paid for a while. (?) Well I quit! and went back to my old job that I found myself all of a sudden quite passionate about again! SWEET! But I have to start ALL over and the money is not comming in so I said that I could start working at a nice little artsy fine dining place and he did not seem impressed!
OK okay, please dont be biased! Try and put the negative stuff aside. What do you think of the tenency papers thing if that is ok to ask?

You can be common law married only in a state that allows that. Some states still keep that law on the books but don't enforce it and others have outlawed it long ago. So how could you do a pre nupt if there was no nupt? I mean like gays go to their attorney and draw up an "agreement"...is that kinda what you were asking, like an agreement of sorts? In some states if you live in a guy's place for a certain length of time and you do minor work around the house then he can't throw you out. Check the laws in your state. Maybe that's why he wants you to sign a pre nupt. He wants his cake, etc. and you get nuthin. Drop the toad. |

Do NOT sign anything without a lawyer looking at it first. More than likely, depending on what state you live in, the pre-nup or any other contractual document around this relationship will be presumed invalid because you did not get legitimate legal advice. In some states your "man" may have to foot the bill for the third party attorney to review the documents.

Call your local county bar association and ask for a referral to an attorney, tell them what you have said here, and they will give some advice as to what you should do in your state.
