If I wanted to hire my ex husbands attorney could I?

My ex husbands attorney was a bulldog in the courtroom. I am about to take my ex husband back to court. But my ex husband didn't pay his attorney. If I wanted to hire him can I? or would it be conflict of interest??

this attorney I don't think has any ethics or a heart! lol but I was pretty sure of the conflict of interest thanks for your answers.

Everybody here says, "conflict of interest."

My brother got half-way through is divorce (child custody agreement but no property settlement) when his attorney told him to find another attorney because she was going to work for his ex wife's attorney.

Makes you wonder how long they were negotiating that deal while opposing each other in the divorce.

There is an automatic conflict in representing both sides of the same case.

It would be a conflict of interest. I don't think any ethical atty. would go over to the other side just for $$.

Not a chance. The fact that your ex didn't pay him doesn't mean anything. There would be a clear conflict of interest and it wouldn't be allowed unless your ex agreed to his atty now representing you.

If your attorney has any ethics at all he would not take you on as a client.

You could try, but I'm pretty sure the attorney would tell you it's a conflict of interest just as you suspect he would.
