If a kid (teenager) attacks you with a weapon can you beat him up legally?

You can use 'reasonable force' to defend yourself if you are unable to flee. That's what the law says. Now, what constitutes 'reasonable force' may have to be settled in a courtroom, but generally self-defense is acceptable.

You may not use more force than is necessary to prevent or stop the attack - you can't beat them up if they've stopped fighting back.

Reasonable self defense excuses a multitude of violent acts up to and including manslaughter. The thing is, you might have to prove to a jury that you were in genuine fear for your safety or your life. Generally speaking, you have to stop when the attacker is neutralized and stops attacking.

we all have the right to protect are selvs and fight off attackers.but before you do you should contact the proper authorities first.that way they have it on record that the person or persons has been harassing you for sometime.you can then get a restraining order against the person.

As far as I know, anything you have to do to defend your life is legal; the age of the attacker doesn't matter if your life is in danger.

As with any attack, self defense is warranted. If you followed the teaching of many of the martial arts, you would only use enough force to stop the attacker long enough for you to get away from the situation.

In Florida you have the right to protect yourself. If someone attacks you with a knife you can retaliate with deadly force.

Of course you can always protect yourself, but hope and pray there are witnesses to support your self defense.

And remember self defense is just that you can be charged and have to provide this as a defense in court.

I had a few gang members go to break out some windows and things of my house for erasing some gang markings,
I had child protective services after me for almost a year before it got cleared up.

Pay serious attention to this answer. You CAN defend yourself, it is legal to do so. It is legal to do whatever it is necessary to do TO defend yourself, and ONLY to that point.

Any use of EXCESSIVE force after that point can get you in very serious trouble.

If your life is endangered, self defense is not illegal.

The rule is to use the minimum force necessary to disarm the aggressor.
