It comes to something when the safety of children comes SECOND to the rights of a paedophile!I feel the community should be warned of anyone convicted of this crime!Personally,I would do everything to make their stay uncomfortable!

I wouldn't have to do much, I'm sure all my paranoid neighbors with kids would have him/her gone within a day. It would be like Frankenstein chased out of town by villagers carrying pitchforks and torches.

I would tell everyone if they didn't know already. Leave them alone, because whatever ones opinions on this, you cannot harass them, that constitutes breaking the law. I wouldn't like it at all mind you and would hope they would move.

I understand the concern but I am always troubled by this just because it seems that they are screwed for the rest of there lives because they can't live anywhere. It seems unfair in someways. Obviously you know so you should prevent something from happening to your kids. Usually Paedophiles mess with someone close, like kin or friends of kin.

I would simply ignore him/her and not pass time of day, not help and watch him/her like a hawk and keep any children away from him reporting it if he had any contact with them. The law quite rightly would take a dim view of the sort of actions mentioned here

How would you know a paedophile had moved in? I don't think they go around with a sign round their neck or walk around with a sandwich board advertising the fact - and if you harass them, it's YOU breaking the law, and YOU'LL be the one in trouble, not the paedo ! ! !

Hmm....unfortunately, you can't technically "harass" them. But I would notify ALL the neighbors, WITH or WITHOUT kids. That way, people would be alarmed if they ever see that person with a kid and will be more likely to voluntarily "supervise" their interactions. However, I would be careful of the wording I use to "notify" the neighbors so that it would not constitute "Character Defamation." For example, I would not print out copies upon copies of "Pedophile Alert!" which can be used as evidence of "slander." Instead, I would just tell the neighbors, "This is what I heard....this is what I found online....this is what I found from my research from all the police reports I was able to pull.....pass it on to ALL the local parents...."

I would make sure my daughter doesn't get on or off the school bus alone. I would monitor her outdoor playtime activities. I would be super observant of anybody who comes in contact with them so that I make sure my daughter has no contact whatsoever with any "middle-man" (or woman) who can potentially "lead" my daughter to their doorstep.

simple solution

first of all you must be 100% sure that the person is a peadophile,as many a person have had there lives destroyed by false allegations by some very vindictive ppl,saying that, nothing like a good bonfire with the peadophile as the guy,there resolves the question of harrassment,do you ever have to justify a good bonfire,i of course are speaking hyperpheticaly,

No, I think that would be a poor way of going about it as they have to live Somewhere.

I would probably go around, explain that I know who they are and that the neighborhood would not stand for him here.

However I would offer to mediate for them but explain in no uncertain terms that any inappropriate behavior or contact with my family and I'd personally butcher them...

And what amazes me is that parents on here say things like "i wouldn't let my child walk home alone" etc, why arnt you doing that already - that paedophile may already have moved in to your street!!

You could tell your children about the creep, then let them call him/her names like pervert...ect. That way you wouldn't get in trouble with the law. Maybe they'd get ideas like throwing eggs at their house. But, I guess I would just move.

You can check online what the victims age was, date ect... Because some people are registered as a *** offender, because of just having *** with somebody under 18 when they were over age 18. If that is the case, I would be worried, but wouldn't harass them. Also, that type of crime could have happened decades ago.
