If i was selling a teddy called Mohammed...?

would anyone buy it??

Im thinking about designing and buying a shed load of cuddly toys from a factory in the North of England. My plan was then to have each teddy embroidered with the words "My Name is Mohammed" across its chest, then I was going to sell them world wide. Making a very small profit with the novelty bears that I would sell in the UK / States, and with that money, paying out my own pocket to have millions of them shipped to Sudan, Aufghanistan, India etc etc.

2 questions, would you buy one (with pride) and 2, how bad do you think the reaction would be?? Ie would I have to hide my freinds and family away from all the Muslims and Sudanese people??

This is a serious question, I have the money and am seriously considering it. If this causes you offence, read another question, or go and lash someone with a whip :-)

I think this idea would give the radicals another good reason to riot and create mayhem. This situation is volatile enough without fanning the flames.

Sadly, you would probably incur a real threat to yourself and your family. I wouldn't risk it. Although Islam is really a religion of peace and mutual respect, that has been distorted by many factions to give them power over others; and they attract fanatics who would probably take action against you for the implied insult to their faith.

I don't think you'd have to hide from "all" Muslims & certain the US government would not arrest you for this scheme. But why exactly are you willfully insulting millions of people? At least the school teacher in Sudan never intended to be insulting or spiteful.

To answer your questions though:
Yes, I would buy one.
Yes, (I came to the conclusion) I would have to seriously worry about me and my family. Not just from some in the Muslim community, but by those here in the States and Britain who would see me as inciting bad relations with those uncivilised countries.

So are you talking about shipping bears to these countries or sending dollars that you make off these bears? You KNOW the bears won't go over and hey, the US has been giving aid to countries that often only turn around to bite us in the **** years later so why not?

I think it's in horrible taste. Like it or not, this woman violated the laws of the country in which she choses to live. Some of the main grievances muslims have against the US and UK is them trying to enforce their values throughout the world, assuming they are the only ones with the right to decide what is right and wrong.
