If it was in the middle of the night, and a stranger was banging on your door screaming to let them in?

I would let them in. Since it would be the middle of the night I would go to the door with a weapon (Bat, Gun, Knife, etc.) because this man or woman might be trying to get me to let them in to rob me even though it's unlikely someone would be yelling if they were trying to rob someone at night.

Regardless if they told me a maniac killer was after them I would call the police to deal with this person.

This is a complex question with many possible variables, I live with my two adult sons, and I have a 91 pound albino doberman, so just letting someone in wouldn't be an option, first I would turn on all outside lights, call 911, the police here respond in under 5 minutes, then we would all go outside with said person, due to past experience, people who show up at your door in the middle of the night around here are usually addicts who have put themselves into whatever predicament they are in, never give a stranger a ride, they always say they need to go somewhere specific then redirect while in route, to a less desireable area, I speak from experience, and coming from a soft heart that has fallen for their load of crap more than once, it doesn't matter if they are male or female.

I'll look at the person from a window. If he/she is in danger and looks scared I'll let the person in. But of course if I didn't know that the person was being chased by a maniac killer, I wouldn't open the door, would you?!!

I will call the cops and let him in.

More than likely just waking up to screaming if it was in the middle of the night I probably already would have called the police department, and told whoever was screaming, that the police are on the way, just in case the person was there to possibly endanger me or my family, I know I could be a little safer knowing that they the police were already on the way. I, then would tell them to just wait on my porch.

I would call the police but I would never let a stranger in my house. I would tell them I have a gun and Im calling the police and if they are really in trouble then I would tell them to stay where they are and I would put the light on them so the killer would be in the light also if he approached the said victim. I would let the killer know that I have taken a picture of him and I have a gun and I have called the police so he needs to get his butt out of there now. Its probably the land shark knocking on your door anyway. Just ignore him and he will go away.

i think i will be scared but if that person being followed is desperate i think i may help him first call police in the meantime i see what i can do but first i protect myself.

that's a tough question.
most probably i wouldn't let them in, although if i were in that position i would be totally freaked out too.
i guess it's the way society is shaped these days. you can't really trust anybody.
(on the other hand, though, if i knew this person well enough, i would most definetely let them in and lock all doors and windows)

most probably, though, i would call 911 and be ready for an attack.

no because they could kill you. I have had people knocking on my door saying their car was broken down could they come in to use the phone and i say no but i can call for you from in here. The world is to dangerous to let people you don't know in your house even if they seem like they are in trouble
