My fingerprints were taken as a stalker victim, with several damaged properties of mine. I know they wanted to know if I was doing it to myself for attention (good lord). Anyways, are my finger prints always and forever on file now? Do I have to worry about what my hands touch incase of a later crime scene??

Your prints are always there, however, if you were found innocent of stalking yourself, you have nothing to worry about. Plus, prints at a crime scene have to be prominent. So, if you touched something even 10 minutes before a criminal did, their prints would be over yours and yours would not be admitted as evidence or clues. |

yes they go in a national data base and no if you had nothing to do with the crime you have nothing to worry about |

Yep, once they take those prints they are scanned into a computer and are there forever. |

Yes they are always on file. I would no worry about what you touch. You won't be convicted just because your finger prints were found at a crime scene. Just don't commit any crimes and you'll be safe. |

yes they will be on the computer forever what I like to do is get a bench grinder and grind off your figertips you have to do this about ever other day but its worth it and use water |

If your prints are taken as reference prints because you are the victim of a crime then they can't keep them in any criminal datebase.
If, however, they are taken because you are a suspect then they can. |

Do feel at ease even if your prints are on file. I don't think it's anything to worry about as this is likely to have been done as a mattter of routine or procedure; and should not be subject to misuse. Every crime scene should tell a complete story and fingerprints alone, even if found at a crime scene only says that at some point the person was there, and it does not necessarily mean that the person was involved in the crime. |

Your finger-prints ARE 'on file' forever, now, and you should be GLAD they are, because if you were ever kidnapped or 'hurt/killed' they might be the way you'd be identified. I would NOT worry about what you touch now 'in case of a later crime scene' because the 'technicians' know how to 'sort the good from the bad' in OTHER WAYS ... but if you are worried because you have committed a crime or are considering committing a crime, then I'm GLAD they have your prints, because they increase the chances you'll be caught and 'punished' for the crime. |
