1/. Knock them out (if possible)
2/. Carry them outside.
3/. Now, kick the ******* living daylights out of them
4/. Go back inside your house and go back to bed.
When police knock on your door asking if you heard anything............simply answer no :-) |

Reasonable force are the watch words aalthoug the UK law is so vague on this it's a joke. Reasonable force for a frail old lady against a young fit man would be? Knife? the Law is an a s s |

While it is generally acceptable to use force against someone who enters your home aginst your will, it is not always deemed accepatable to use deadly force, in all parts of the country. There are cases that have gone both ways. The decision, which is not always based on any clear legal principles, is based on the degree to which an intruder made one fear for one's safety. Self-defense is not automaticly considered to be an excuse. |

The law says within reasonable force, but with a knife or gun pointing at me i'd probably piss in my pants and let them have their own way, im too old now to be a king saviour. Mind you, if they touched my wife i'd piss on them and be king saviour. Serious though how do you rate reasonable force, too much and you may be jailed, the laws an idiot. |

the CORRECT answer depends entirely on where you live. While many states have enacted "shoot-first" laws, still others have not and you assume legal liability for such actions. |

No you would be in the wrong and could be prosecuted.Under ECC THE RIGHT TO WORK LAW,burglary is now regarded as a profession and you would be denying him/her the right to carry out their lawful entitlement to work. You would be liable of fine or possible jail sentence,so be careful.Do not obstruct them,in fact make them a cuppa and give them a piece of cake while they are going about their business. |

I believe in most cases it is only acceptable if you're in danger of physical harm. |

Using force to protect your family inside the house is allowable by law in Texas...Shoot first, then ask questions. |

you better be able to articulate your use of force on another person even if they break into your home. in some states you would be justified, but in others you could be in trouble if they are unarmed. remember, we are in one of the most liberal countries in the world. but of course im with you they would be toast and food for my german shepard. |

Are you in England or America? in England we do not have the right to really defend ourselves, you can only use reasonable force, otherwise it would be you in court on a much more serious charge than the burglar, how I wish that we had the right to defend our family and property as they do in America, maybe these crooks would not be so eager to take a chance.

I was told once (By a policeman!), that if anyone broke into his house, he would stab them and wipe his prints off the knife before planting their prints on the knife.
Now, I'm all for upholding law and order. And I feel it's my civil duty to adhere to that policeman's advice. So, if it ever happens, and I don't get away with it, I'll just give the CCTV tape to my solicitor, and plead ignorance through being mis-informed by an officer of the law. |

You are allowed to use reasonable force, but who can define reasonable force when you are fighting for your life. |

if it was me weapon or not its easy to conceal one id use reasonable force to spread his dna all over the fooking place then phone the police and tell em he fell down the stairs bouncing on his head trying to run away as he was startled |

I think you should be able to protect yourself and your family, but then the good old laws say that you can't. But the crooks are allowed to carry weapons into your house and use them. I would kill anyone who harmed my children, as its a parents job to do so. All animals or all kinds naturally protect their young. That should be the same for humans. |

People always have the right to use force to defend themselvs if they think they are in danger, regardless of what law has or has not been passed.
What we don't want is yahoos (good name choice) running around with concealed weapons that they use after traffic accidents or simple arguments.
Brazil has very "liberal" (the true use of the word) concealed gun laws, and more people die in shootouts following traffic accidents than from the accidents themselves. |

Yes, you could use a knife, you're in your house and someone has broken in so they had it coming on them. |

The question is "would it be legal" ? Which is a moot
question, 'cause my reply would be; "does it matter "? |

allow victims of crime full freedom to defend themselves and their property, without fear of prosecution
make prisons more austere and make prisoners serve their full sentence with time added for bad behaviour not time off for good behaviour |

if your in danger and you kill them its self defence and your not liable.... i pity the poor bloke that breaks into my house ...and you know the terriorty better than the burglar everything is a weapon |

If you do, make sure you kill them. If you just wound them they can sue you for everything you have and more.
Not that I'm saying you should, mind you. It's just stuff and you should have insurance that would replace it. |

Yes, the law allows you to use deadly force in that instance |
