An ex friend stole my new ipod nano and probably have pawned it already, I am just wondering even if I find what pawn shop it is at and get the police involved, do I have to buy the ipod back from the pawn shop? Cuz if I do then I might as well buy a new one...
Any help would be great....

No the police will take it and return it, and the pawn shop will be PISSED at your friend as that is lost money. Thing is that Pawn Shops usually try to avoid stolen merchandise for just this reason so your friend may not have been able to pawn it. |

No, it is stolen property, the police will hold it as evidence and after all criminal proceeding will give it back to you. |

The legal answer is no ...However a pawn shop will only loan a small amount for such an item and it may be far cheaper to just buy it back rather than a new one. |
