No
Doing the wrong thing, regardless of the situation, is still the wrong thing. |

NO...immoral and inhumane acts are never justified. |

No, because we're stooping down to their level. We have laws and courts which make us a common law society. Torture would defy every reason we have a justice department in the United States. |

No. The fact is that torture begets more torture. We should stand by our belief in human rights against torture anyplace in the world (for instance, it would apply to an American prisoner in another country). |

Killing as many terrorists as possible would be the right thing to do. |

That's a case of teleological reasoning there...doing something immoral to get a moral ends. I don't think torturing will do anything, after all terrorists are terrorists because they are willing to die for what they believe in. How about flipping the table...our military is trained to never give sensitive information to our enemies if they are caught, even if they are tortured. Why would we believe that our enemies are any different? They're not going to tell us anything anyways, they'd rather die. |

Yes, and it should also be on Pay-Per-View. |

It has already proven to be effective, and yes, it's worth it.

You will not change the bleeding heart liberals minds, until there is another attack and perhaps they personally lose loved ones,(and then they will probably blame the U.S.) Do you remember at the beginning of the war after the attack, a bunch of bleeding hearts, went over there and tried to Kum by ya them, and then realized how hopeless and unnerving the enemy was and came running back terrified. Truly liberals just have a different mind-set and common sense eludes them. Nobody in their right mind wants war, but until you can convince everyone of that; which is impossible, it is a fact of life and has been since the beginning of man. Humans themselves have not really changed, oh we think we are so advanced, perhaps we have a few more bells and whistles, but there is still basic humanity and emotions. By the way nightly I pray to God for World Peace.
p.s. perhaps if the memos that do show the success of what the leftist like to call torture, were released than perhaps that would be the proof you need. Do you realize that the waterboarding was only for about 30-45 seconds at a time and there was a physician standing by. Give me a break. |

It's a moot point, since America does not torture. |

Absolutely.
We dropped two atomic bombs to save allied lives.
Enemies of freedom and democracy should never expect humane treatment when they are inhumanely trying to kill us.
Those who oppose what they call torture are almost always people who have never suffered personally thru the actions of terrorists.
As long as it's only someone else whio suffers they have no problem with calling enhanced interrogation " torture".
It's the old saying that a conservative is a liberal who was mugged. |

here's a suggestion, if you kill everyone, there'll be no crime, acceptable to you? |

Terrorists aren't "Prisoners of war" they are not fighting under the flag of a Sovereign nation nor wearing a uniform.... (EDIT: Consider that spies caught out of uniform behind the lines can be shot)
Enhanced interrogation has apparently already stopped an attack.
So if we have to make a few warped individuals a little uncomfortable or hungry or sleepy to save just one american life then it is absolutely worth it.
EDIT2 (Comment)
"Torture begets Torture" Turn the other cheek etc,,
Tell that to Daniel Pearl.......
News flash the terrorists WILL KILL YOU if given the chance |

it depends... |

If you are talking about waterboarding, it is only considered torture if you believe the Obama administration. Having looked at the definition given by the U.N. on torture, I don't believe it fits into any of those categories.
Regardless of that, information gained from using agressive interrogation techniques have been used to thwart further attacks. |

What floors me about everyone asking about this is that it is the same problem we have with domestic criminals. Everyone is so concerned with the rights of terrorists and criminals that they forget all about the rights of the victims. How would you feel if you lost friends or family on 9/11? Would you take more of a victim's rights view? |

it has been used in every war since the beginning of time and it will not stop with this one~~please
spare me the bs~~field commanders do this all the time~~it only will be
covered up more~~one thing about the Germans~~they treated the American prisoners of war better then the other countries they fought
maybe because the Americans were more respected then say the Russians?
Look at Hogan's Hero's and see how Col. Klink treated Hogan~~~J/K |
