Yes. It is a conviction for the offense to which you pled guilty.
Note that the original charge will still show up on a criminal history (an official one, anyway), but it will show that you were convicted of the lesser offense (assuming you pled to a lesser offense) |

Yes it's still a conviction, but there is a big difference in a misdemeanor and a felony conviction. The key is to have the charge dropped to a misdemeanor offense and to get little to no time, a suspended sentence, or very little probation. |

i know that in ohio if you plea to a lesser charge it does not really matter but in your sentancing. i pleaded guilty to permitting drug abuse instead of trafficking marijuanathey originallly charged me with but couldnt prove because my friend sold it not me, thinking it would look better on my record but when you look up my record it says i was convicted of trafficking marijuana, so unless it cuts your sentance it really doesnt matter |
