I think there should be an island where all murderers and stuff are sent. Let them run wild, isolated, in their own place, no way to escape, forced to try to survive. A lot of them would get what was coming to them from one another, and a lot would learn to appreciate the life they had and the life they lost. In the end, they'd all die. *shrugs*

Since the case hasn't been proven in court, I can't place any judgement on the defendent. Remember WE in America are innocent before we are proven guilty.

and btw I am sure you will get the eye for an eye, shoot him, beat him, kinda crap. I am sure that most of the people that are gonna answer this question never knew anyone that was murdered. If they do then they are biased just like if they haven't. Really it's a catch-22 type situation.

Although I do believe in the death penalty, committing a crime like that is even beyond what I have heard of before. I mean cutting off a woman's head is just unbelievable; I truly cannot fathom what sick mind that man must have had in order to bring himself to do something like that.

And as much as I'm sure that woman's family would love to see that man shot and killed, I think it would be best for him to serve life in prison with (like said earlier) no parole and no chance of getting off early due to good behavior.

Or if not life in prison, then life in a mental institution because that man definitely has something wrong with him and he needs serious help. No sane person can bring themselves to do something like that.

life behind a cell with no communication with the outside world at all is a lot more torture than any death sentence.he will get to think about what he did and how he is not able to see or to talk to the ones he loves.death is just a way of getting away from that.

If there is death penalty in that State where the hiker girl was beheaded to death then it should be the capital punishment, I bet this is not his first offense either. I vouch for the death penalty.

Death by whatever means is currently in use there. ( even if it hurts and is painful ) - execution should not be painless, let them live some of the horror that their victims must have lived.

I have always been of the opinion that people like this should be substituted for animals in animal testing.

They could contribute to society by turning them into guinea pigs for the wellbeing of the rest of humankind.

life without parole.... we are talking ethics aren't we? i'm sure you'll get lots of: decapitations, eye for an eye, ect. craziness. but i'm a christian pacifist and don't believe in the death penalty

This man has done it before. You do not get to be his age and then just decide to kill someone at random this way. Haul him out back and shoot him now so that the world will be shut of him forever.
