No, I figure if someone has such little regard for their money they don't need it. |

Yes I would turn it in. karma is a beeotch, so being honest is the best way to be. |

I wouldn't turn it in. Anyone carrying around 30k is not legit anyway.......probably better that I hang on to it to protect the public! ;) |

That would be one big wad :)), yeah I'd turn it in , if no one claims it it becomes yours in a year . |

I would but I am that way..I would want someone to turn in my money if I lost it.. There might be a reward so I would be able to live with myself and be ahead plus the person who lost it would be ever so thankful for someone that has responsible ethics. |

I would definitely turn it in. I found a large amount of money once and after ninety days , I got it back because no one came to claim it. It is always better to be safe than sorry. What if those bills were from a bank robbery and they were marked-you would be arrested for the heist. That doesn't sound like a good thing to me. |

Absolutely. 3 reasons: if it's not claimed, you get it anyway; you can be charged with "Theft by finding" if you get caught not handing it in; I could not live with myself knowing I had so much of someone else's money. |
|

ole max.

yes ,of course? |

I would take it to the police station, with my lawyer, and turn it in with the understanding that if it is not claimed, I get to keep it. If it is drug money, I doubt if the owner would risk claiming it at a police station. If you just keep it and spend it, and it turns out to be marked bills, counterfeit, or was used in a crime with forensic evidence on it, you could be in BIG trouble.
Now, if I found 30 million dollars, I could afford to relocate anywhere. But I would make sure the money wasn't marked with forensic ink or phony.. |

if that was the situation then yes i would keep it.
i'm lying,my conscience wouldn't let me keep it no matter who it belonged to. |
|

?

The question is who really owns the money? It's like finding money and handing it over to the cops. Do you think the cops will ever give the money to charity or attempt to find the righfull owner? I doubt it! |

I would return it..Karma thing and its the right thing to do anyway. I found a wallet one time and returned it. The guy had just cashed his check and there was quite abit of money. He was most grateful and almost in tears. Was all the money he had for his family. It made me feel good that I could help him. |
|

Juldis

*It's possible the coat (?) the money was found in was just a stash spot in a closet, you know a coat (?) no one used anymore... |
