If you know somebody is going to commit suicide, and you don't do anything about it, is that illegal?

NO, I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO IS GOING TO COMMIT SUICIDE! Just to clear that up.
I just want to know.

Tough to prosecute on the basis of negligence. If say, you were watching the person commit suicide and you didn't pick up the phone and dial 911 you may be find yourself in court by some overzealous prosecutor. Consider also, the family of the victim may file a civil lawsuit naming you accountable for their suicide. If you have any empathy or concious for this person you should make a reasonable effort to save their life. No law I know of to answer your question.

No. Only if you actively help them do it.

I don't think so, as long as you're not there with them while they do it.

I don't think it would be illegal, but it wouldn't be moral.

no, and you're not responsible for anyone's soul but your own, they have free will and will do what they like.

if said person who is to commit suicide has a crowd or person who knows of it then its reasonable that the person is wanting help otherwise they would do it without a possible person knowing or stopping it in the first place.

If someone finds out, yes. Your soul needs you to say something.

Or you'll remember forever until the end of time...

It's easy. One should call an 800 suicide hotline number and report anonymously. Then they're free.

Depends on the laws of 'ones' state
BUT IT IS IMMORAL AS HELL

Guess it's your conscience and if you really CARE that they will be dead. Will it help out society as a whole?

No - nothing legal there - perhaps you have a moral responsibility - but then if a person has decided to kill himself, who are you to tell him otherwise????

Tough call.

Yes. Aiding and abetting the commission of a felony. of course, how is anyone gonna find out you knew.

But the grief would hurt for a long time.
