You signed the lease.
You are bound by its terms.
You can ASK your landlord to let you out of your lease, but s/he doesn't have to agree.
That's life as a grownup.
Get used to it.

Ya, you're probably no doubt going to lose your deposit. Your landlord may have some sympathy though...who knows. There is a website for tenant rights. Google it. |

Maybe. There are indeed several provisions that allow tenant to terminate lease without liability - family violence and military service. Search 'termina' just like that to highlight all provisions regarding termination of lease in the Texas Property Code http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PR/content/htm/pr.008.00.000092.00.htm to see if you meet the requirements. O/w, one always imagines Texans to be generous folk. Why not contact landlord to explain the unexpected, reduced circs and offer to maintain the apt to a standard appropriate for viewing by subsequent tenants s/he may schedule at her/his convenience. You give something up, maybe you'll cut a break. |
