I think two people on death row should box each other to the death. This way, it can be televised and the program can earn millions of dollars in revenue. Also, the winner can be set free as a soldier in Iraq. If he survives that, then we just send him to France, because I hate France.

I think if public executions were still enforced, we would have a lot less criminals. Also, the process needs to be faster. Sitting on death row for years, using tax money, is not good!

In the same way that they killed their victim. You stab someone to death, then you should be stabbed death as well. Feel the pain that you inflicted on the person to which you were convicted of killing. You run someone down while your drunk, then they get a car and run you **** over and over till you die.

The way their victims were killed because the death penalty is not supposed to be humane. They definately did not kill their victims humanely. We don't need to hesitate. Or just shoot them right away so then the liberals won't protest!

Quickly! It's cruel and unusual punishment to make them wait for years. It goes against the 8th amendment. And, if we don't follow the rules we would be just as guilty as the inmate on deathrow. We are hypocrites for making them wait.

I think they should have the ability to choose. Hanging, firing squad, electric chair, gas chamber, lethal injection etc. Personally I would choose a hanging.

You got some misleading answers.

As far as cost goes, the death penalty actually costs much more than life sentences. Much of this is due to the complicated nature of death penalty cases (which actually include two separate phases.)

As far as speeding up the process goes (as some answers suggest) 123 people on death rows have been released with evidence of their innocence, many having already served over 2 decades on death row. If we speed up the process we are bound to execute an innocent person.

No death penalty, I always get in arguments about this with my fellow conservatives. Death penalty shouldnt be legal, period. But since it is, the most painless way possible, the founding fathers wanted to ensure that we had NO CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT!!!

Quickly and painlessly. You are putting a rabid dog out of its misery, you aren't trying to punish the person. Punishment is intended to teach the individual a lesson. What's the point of teaching a lesson to someone who's dead 30 seconds later? The purpose of capital punishment, in my opinion, is simple. Someone who's dead cannot commit a heinous crime ever again. I do believe capital punishment applies only in 2 forms, first, at the hands of the victim at the time of the crime (i.e. self defense), and second, when there is virtually no doubt that the person committed a very heinous act. Or multiple acts.
