If it meant i had to kill him to protect my child then i wouldn't hesitate. No man would ever live to tell the tale if my kids had been touched by a paedo.
And yes....i would go to jail for it because as i mother protecting her children, i have no rights
These vile scum of the earth have!
No wonder the saying goes........only the good die young....its because all the rapists, paedos, and murders kill off the decent people and get off with it. |

In Texas you may kill them. |

You are allowed to use sufficient force to prevent him harming yourself or others. For example if he really was a knife-wielding child killer then lethal force could be justified. If he was just standing there, then the force you could reasonably use would be the force required to physically drag him from the premises, assuming he didn't resist. |

Your child comes first...so whatever force that takes! |

Don't care. However unlikely this is to happen and I can't help thinking you're using a News of The World like sensationalist scenario to make your point, I would still beat the person so badly that they would never walk or talk again. |

Do anything you want. They're in YOUR house! |

Self defense for you and your child, he has a knife!!!
Do what you can to get both of you out of there, consequences??? Hell I wouldn't even think about that! |

i think the last thing going through your mind at that point would be his human rights! |

Rights? I'm sorry, the a hole lost his rights the minute that he broke into my home. I doubt that anyone would even have time to consider his rights, our reaction time would, hopefully, be too quick. I think that the knife weilding perv would have a hard time sitting, for awhile, as he would be pulling that knife out of a very sensitive area. We need to give the rights bavck to the people who deserve them NOT the crinimals, but the victems. It is time for our courts to quite coddling the crinimals. |

Make him a cup of tea, offer him some biscuits, sit him down, and explain the situation to him. Remember not to shout or swear, as that could upset him, and he may have you charged with a public order offence. Ask him politely to leave, and say you will call him a taxi.
Or.......
Smack him around the head with a baseball bat, chuck him down the stairs, set the dog on him, and then call the police. Explain to them that he came at you wielding a knife (remember to lightly graze various bodily parts on yourself, and then place knife a short distance from him), and you had no option than to defend yourself. You only meant to threaten him with the bat, but he charged you, you felt it was only a slight connection, and then he tripped and fell down the stairs. Your dog has run away, and you don't know where it is. |

Well it would depend...if you count the fact that nobody would ever find the remains... |

I believe the official answer "only what is required to restrain him". Frankly if i was to find anybody near my child, I would not give be a light to his human rights, he would never get near another child and I cannot see any court convicting me, and if they did it would be worth it.
Believe me normally I'm the docile one. |

There is no question, the b@st@rd would be dead.

A new precendent has been set in our courts and we are now permitted to use reasonable force to protect our homes or businesses.
I think in your example Reasonable force would be me throwing him from bedroom window with his knife shoved up his ***. |

if i wake up and find a man in my childs bedroom i will kill him i dont care about his rights i just know it will be the last bedroom he goes in and the hell with his rights |

What if the 'man' in your child's bedroom is the Doctor. You just woke up, so you don't know anything about what happend in the awake world while you were asleep. Your kid took sick, someone called the Doctor and now you want to kill him.
Just stop worrying and shoot to kill. Ask questions afterwards, although I cannot see why anyone would need to. |

I have a few rriends on the local force and they all said if you use appropiate force eg knock him out self inflict a small wound you can prove self defence. good luck!. |

Well Mike, it's like this: if I had children or anyone is unlucky enough to be in one of my bedrooms 'par say' then I hope they can fly because a trip through the glass of the window with out wings might cause them some damage.

In Texas, deadly force. |

In Britain you can't really do anything, because they will become the victim. But personally I'd act on instinct and hope that the courts understand your actions when it goes to trial. |

Simple; Dont wait til he does something. Use as much force as is necessary. I would rather bash him on the head with a baseball bat and take the consequences safe in the knowledge my child was ok. rather than wait til it was too late. Even if it was proved he was harmless later. Hes not afterall the tooth fairey is he?
You could not possibly be convicted. Public opinion would be loud on your side. |

It wouldn't matter, because no one would get anywhere near my boy. I would protect him, like a Lioness protects her Cubs. |

Hold him at gun point until the police get there. If he makes a move, dust him and claim self-defense. You'll be back home before breakfast. |

There is no question, I would do what ever it takes to protect my children. If the MAN chose to break into my home and then chose to enter my childs room, no question there, he can not be up to any good. Therefore he would be imobilized, dead or not. I would make sure to get my children out of harms way before having any time to decide what to do with a monster like that. Bottom line if someone enters my home to harm my family, they better be ready to die. |
