Im going to court for the first time.. suspended license....?

well here is what happened. i got 5 citations on my record. took a safety class thought everything was finne with my license so i kept driving. got pulled ova car towed and what not. get a court date which is this morning for pretty much driving with a suspended license. i dont really know what to do since i am leaving for iraq in 2 months.. should i tell the judge heyy im peacing..
anyways this is my first time to court besides speeding tickets. like my first offense. i dont really know what to do what to wear what to say things like that. i did a dry run yesterday of where the court room is and parking but im still really nervous any ideas?

Talk with respect to the Judge (Sir, your honor) & wear nice clothing (Suit or military uniform would work. Don't wear shorts or a T-Shirt). Don't try to B.S. the Judge, they frown on that kind of thing and get annoyed.

As to what to say it's hard for me to recommend a course of action as I don't know the situation. What were the prior tickets for, did you pay the fine or attend a safety course for each ticket (and how many times can you take a safety course), were you supposed to mail a certificate of completion to Clerk of the Courts when you passed your safety course, did any of your prior tickets REQUIRE you to attend Court (and you simply failed to notice it), were any of your prior tickets misdemeanors (ex. reckless driving) as oppossed to simple citations and does your State automatically suspend a d/l after so many citations?

At this stage it probably doesn't even matter. You might simply try "Your honor, I know my driving history is poor and I've got no excuse for it but I was completely unaware I was driving on a suspended license. I never received notification from the State / County nor was I required to come before the Court in the past (ie the prior tickets were simply citations and they were paid on time and/or a driving safety class was substituted). I'm prepared to accept responsibilities for my actions your honor but before rendering Judgement I would like you to know that I am due to deploy from <insert date> and won't be back until <insert date>. "

Sure, tell the judge you're going to iraq. Maybe it will help. But I doubt it. Why? Because you have a bad driving history. this is not your 1st offense. Speeding tickets are moving violations. Probably had a license suspension for the moving violations. And you drove anyway! So you got pulled over - for what? speeding again? Probably. And driving without a valid license means that your insurance is probably ineffectual! so they took the car, too! Either the judge will give you a heavy fine, or time in the clink, or both.
OR, he will let you release you to finish the iraq business and advise you to take care of this matter when you get back from iraq. Maybe. It's too late but you really need a lawyer to help you cop a plea. Anyway, for your court appearance, dress neat & clean. Call everyone sir, And whatever you do, DON'T drive to court.
