Is 10 yrs. in prison enough?

I guess it would depend on the facts of the case. Involuntary manslaughter is usually the verdict if the death was some sort of an accident. I was at a Friends house one time, he was cleaning a gun that went off accidentally. It shot another friend of mine thru the leg, but it was an accident. Granted he wasn't practicing ideal firearm safety. If it was accidental the ten years would be enough. Hard to say not knowing the facts.

He should have gotten 25 years. Rules are different in other states, some states are stricter than others, but I am sure that they all have the same guidelines to follow,when it comes to prosecuting a murderer.

Simply said, he is a murderer, here in my state, he would have gotten 3 years for using the gun in the comminssion of a crime, and about 15-25 for murder.

He will get a little bit of goodtime, i'm sure, but after about doing 7 of those years, they may take a look at letting him out. Nothing is fair it seems at times.

i'd say life imprisonment..he didn't only kill his girlfiend he also killed an unorn child as well. he deprived the child of the priviledge to see the world and have a future. on the girlfriend's side, she didn't even had the chance to see her baby born and be able to raise him/her.

There is no reason to shoot anyone, he should be sentenced to death by the same means. He shot his girl in cold blood, death by execution squad.

Have faith in Judiciary. The judiciary has system which works to protect the innocent and in the process sentence the guilty. U and Me do not know what has actually happened and the judges and the police officers have everything in their control to go through the facts and with these facts and figures the judiciary acts. We, as a people, have invented this system and let us follow this system. Elsewhere in the world it is really dangerous.
Beheading, Rape of innocents who go for food from Government NGOs in Africa, Trafficking of humans, Kidnapping of Children, etc. etc.

Not having the evidence the judge had, I can't answer the question. You are biased, of course, and upset. As usual, Christians cannot forgive crime close to them, but emotion makes for very bad decision-making.

You said he was sentenced to involuntary manslaughter, well that's a world away from murder. So unless I knew all the facts it is hard to say.

No it is not enough. That person is dead forever, and of the child, he did no worse than some of these abortion doctors, believe me when I say that child (and her baby) is in the Creator's hands. We all come back to the Creator, some day the murderer will too But for him, he will come back for judgement.

i believe that is not far at all....first off ten years is way too short second off he killed two people..the baby was 6 months which meant that it has been more then just a pennant but has evolded into a baby therefore in the eyes of the law it should be counted as two people dead because of him..10 yrs!! it should havebeen more like life

Six or seven years with good time I would imagine. Doesn't sound like a stiff sentence. What's he say? He was cleaning the gun and it went off? Obviously the court went under the assumption his killing her wasn't (or couldn't be proven) to be intentional.

Hell no. He sounds like a worthless being, certainly not worthy of life. He should just be put to death or left in prison to die. A person like this can not be rehabilitated. He can not be "fixed" or taught a lesson from being in prison. I feel sorry for the woman's family who gets the slap in the face from this pathetic excuse for a sentence.

I think when someone murders someone they should figure out scientifically how long the victim's life span would have been and that's how many years the murderer should get! Ten years is not enough because he took away more than ten years of hers and her baby's life!

I don't think that is fair. It was murder of two human beings. That is horrible, he should get life on prison. I don't know how it's involuntary, but I don't know the whole story. Was it somehow an accident? Either way, its just not right.

Yeah, the law is an ***. In America (where else) a shop owner shoots a would-be thief dead (a 16year old) and gets a suspended sentence. Same day, an African American shoots a dog dead and gets two years. Makes no sense.
