It is in some quarters. Underage drinking, binge drinking by college students, drunk driving, and alcoholism are all issues that make alcohol consumption controversial.

Only drinking by minors. Otherwise, not much of a controversy.

As long as they are over the legal age to drink, they should be allowed to if they want.

Alcohol consumption does more harm than good. its a totally no-no for a decent society. it turns human into animal. after getting drunk he cant differentiate between his mother and wife . he just follow his evil with no common sense

It's a very controversial issue in many areas of the country. Different states and counties have laws telling people when they can't buy alcohol, such as on a Sunday. This is in both the North (ie. CT) and South (ie. GA).
