The other day some of my netflix movies were stolen from the community "outgoing" mail. I decided to stake out the mailbox, knowing that it was kids who had done it. Sure enough, everyday since, there is a group of three children that try to take mail out of the outgoing slot. I do not have proof that they took my movies, but I do see them trying to score more everyday. Is attempted theft just that, attempted? Is there anything I can do to protect all of my neighbors from having them do the same thing that was done to me?

Take photos, then you can either file a complaint with the postal inspector (it's a federal offense) or more likely to be effective go show the photos to the parents of these kids and if they seem unresponsive or unconcerned you can tell them you're filing a complaint with the PI.
BTW you may have more luck with the police than the PI's... |
