It's illegal to record a conversation without at least one person in that conversation being aware. So long as you are in the conversation, or someone in it knows it is being recorded, you can record it. Why would you want to?! |

Depends on company policy. The compant has the right to say no. In such case, carrying any recording device, concealed or otherwise, is cause for dismissal without recourse. |

If your exposing someones wrong doing then its all ok, but of the intenet is to harm someone reputation etc then dont do it.

Sure. You just might not be able to use the tapes in court. And your employer may consider it an invasion of privacy and fire you for it. If you need the dictaphone for legitimate purposes, I'd make sure I talked to my boss and perhaps human resources about it. |

It is not illegal to carry it, but if you record the voice of anyone other than yourself, you have to tell them before-hand that you are going to do it. They then have the choice to allow it or not. |

In most states, It is not illegal . However, using it is court to prove your case often times is.....most of the time it is inadmissable unless the person being recorded knows that they are being recorded. |
