Is getting high any different than getting drunk?
Find answers to your legal question.

Is getting high any different than getting drunk?

think if they legalized just marijuana and sold it at 7-11, taxed it...it would put a lot of dealers out of buisness, pave a lot of roads and buy a lot of school books.

i'ld rather be around a bunch of stoned people then drunk people.....i never met anyone who turned into an as*hole just smokin'.....so yes i think there is a difference...it will never be legal....they get more $$$$ seizing property and cash the they ever would get from taxes, just the way it is.

getting high normally involves something illegal......alcohol isn't

On one hand I say yes legalize weed, on the other I say no don't. Sure it would cut down on drug dealers but then again it would even make it easier for people to sit around and get high all the time...

nowadays people get high for social reasons. people drink 'because its legal' or 'in social'. people take drugs because of what theyve learned from pop culture. neither are any good when used for the wrong reasons. the highs of alcohol vary (beer, whiskey, gin, vodka, etc) all have their own 'high' just as do 'drugs'. pot/thc is a very different high than any other drug but is still lumped in with things that have no relation other than legality. even the various way to take in pot change the 'high'. to smoke it through a bong is a different high than smoking a joint. it can be eaten which is very different than drinking a tea derivative. the narrowing of the way we deal with these issues is more of a hindrance than a simplification. so, to 'get high' one should have a reason, a vision quest if you will. the reason drugs are illegal over alcohol is that drugs are easy to mass produce in secrecy, alcohol isnt. the taxes would be immense but in todays 'its illegal therefore its bad' mentality, we're better off taxing alcohol because of production & volume of consumption.

I think when you make something illegal it's wanted MORE because its forbidden right? just like back in the day they made alcohol illegal people were makeing it and selling it!! in parts of the world some drugs are not illegal and they don't have a problem with it!!!so sure why not we should make marijuana legal and sell it like in 7-11 stores and tax on it!!!

Had experiences with both.
Similarities: Neither does anything make you a better person
Neither makes you cool or have more friends
Neither answers any of the questions in life
My opinion, legalize weed, just like booze. A person should be able to make up his/her own mind about doing either.

There are legal drugs out there(prescription) that can do more damage to the body than weed. They are regulated,by the drug companies, doctors. IT's all about the money.

William Randolf Hearst villanized weed, by writing editorials in his papers, in an attempt to influence the government. His efforts lead to thousands of Mexican migrant workers being deported or thrown in jail.
New yorks famous mayor La Guardia, comissioned a study that determined very little if any detrimental effects of the weed.

Different is: Drug is illegal, and Alcohol is legal.

Both are NOT the same.Obvious ignorance.

Alcohol is a POISON.
Marijuana is an herbal supplement.
And a good one at that.

it is totally different.Pot does not make you imparied like booze does.Anyone that smokes then starts doing stupid **** or laughting at stuff that really is not that funney is acting.Booze impairs every part of your body and makes you act like a goofball. As a 16 year vet to smoking I have never done any thing or seen anything that people say happen.Heres some info for you.Pot was made illigal back during slavery because rich white people associated pot with blacks saying it made you vilont blah blah blah so during vietnam the public said give them pot make them violent and the gov said it dont work it makes them lazy that is when the hippy movment started but went into deeper more dangours drugs and in the history of smoking noone has ever died because of an over dose (impossible to happen) or got killed because they need a fix.

I agree with you on the legalization of drugs. I am for it. Why is it OK to buy Chivas Regal, and it's even considered classy, and you have to hide to get Ganja? The reason why drugs haven't been legalized is simple: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, and lots of it. Governments thrive on drug traficking.

They are actually very different. Despite the fact that both are intoxicants that CAN cause harm, Smoking marijuanna is actually much safer, unless there is another substance in the weed, which could be controlled if it were sold legally by the government. The intoxication is very different in both of them. Actually while neither is safe to drive on smoking marijuanna causes a more cautious, paranoid effect, so if a person is to drive while high, they would be more likely to not drive, or give their keys to another person, or atleast follow other traffic laws while driving, and be careful, so they can if nothing else try to avoid an accident. the main downside to driving while high, is that people tend not to focus and easily distracted, but i smoker will, as i said, more easily admit intoxication than a drunk.

yeah sure- because tobacco companies are doing that now with cigerrettes. Get real, you cannot legalize pot 1.) Old white men can't get around the moral issue. 2.)Criminalizing drugs is the #1 economy producing industry in the US courts, police, prisons, lawyers, etc... and 3.) I don't want the Gov involved with my weed, it'll screw up the quality of my smoke and thats a no no. Just keep it a misdemeanor and I'll pay the little fine for my dimebag thank you very much!!!
