for example, putting up an offer on ebay for a macbook pro, and then shipping it to them straight from the apple online store... would that be allowed?
oh, or, is it possible to put up the auction, and then when someone buys it and it is transferred to my bank account, use that money to go to a store, buy that item, and then ship it to them?

well, a lot of people don't know exactly WHERE to get the best deals, so they go straight to ebay... I know, a lot of my friends do it too... (and i am also guilty of doing this... i just go straight to ebay sometimes and assume i am getting a deal...)

No its not against the law.
People who have cafepress stores for instance, drop ship their items on ebay. They post their products on ebay, when someone buys it, the seller will then buy it from their own cafepress store and ship it right to the customer.
So in your case, you will be selling it on ebay, when the customer buys it. You then buy it on mac's website and ship it to the customer.
But I can tell you this much, people buy from ebay because they want it cheaper then straight from the company itself. So if they see, a macbook pro is X amount on mac's site and you are charging more (for profit) they won't buy from you. |

You are going to have to put some kind of disclaimer on the product that says something to the effect of "subject to availability"
If you sell the computer and then can't find it as cheap as you want (like the sale you were depending on ended) then you are going to have to buy it for a loss. IF you can't find it anywhere due to availability, you are still subject to getting them a new one and they could sue you for any loses they incurred because of your breach of contract (for instance they go out and buy the computer at list price and now you need to pay them back their money and the difference between what you promised the computer for and what they paid. |
