My girlfriend had something stolen from her by a guy in my class and he told her that the only way to get it back was to sleep with him and she did. in IL is this considered rape?

No, it's considered blackmail and just being dumb. If she was really your gf she wouldn't have slept with him. It can't be rape if it's 100% consensual. I think you need to find a new gf though. |

if she agreed to it, then it was consensual and it will be extremely hard to convict the guy of rape in court. however, she was coersed into doing it so it could also be argued that she was not willing to do it; that she only did it to get her possessions back. it would make for an interesting case. either way, it was a stupid move. |
