The Obama administration lifted restrictions Monday on Cuban-Americans who want to travel to their island homeland. For most Americans, Cuba remains the only country in the world their government prohibits them from visiting. How is this Constitutional?

The only "groups" that the Constitution specifically prohibits discrimination against are religious groups, and there are even limits on that. As far as I know, the only federal laws that prohibit discrimination based on ethnicity and race relate only to discrimination in employment, housing, and racial profiling by law enforcement organizations.

In short, it's not a violation of the Constitution or any other US law to favor Cuban-Americans by lifting travel restrictions. In fact, it's more unconstitutional to prohibit travel. That can violate the Commerce Clause.
