Each state is different, but you have to be 18 to sign a contract with a piercing parlor to get a piercing done. If you got it in a place like that it may have been done illegally, which also raises some questions about their practice.

I know here in Texas you have to be 18 or have a parent come in with you to get it done. However, the places I've been to won't touch anyone under 18 because of higher risk of infections/complications.

You should be honest with your parents. If they don't want you to have it you need to respect their wishes. Once you are 18 you can easily get it done again, if you still want it.

I know in some places its 18+, but even them some say you have to have parental consent. Not to sure about Michigan.
And are you just following a trend by getting your Septum pierced? Because there is so many problems that could happen by getting it pierced. And you won't be able to sue the place you get it done if you get an infection or something, because it'll be your own fault for breaking the law. Just think about it.

No, it's not illegal if you have one, but since you're 13, no tattoo / piercing parlor will be willing to pierce it for you. You usually need parental consent.

The other case is, if you know someone who is willing to pierce it for you, you will just be causing anxiety for yourself. Sure, you may be able to hide the piercing, but what happens if your parents find out? Not only will you lose their trust, but you will definately be in a decent amount of trouble.

Obviously, it's your choice, but if you want to stay on good terms with your parents, I wouldn't do it. Not to mention it's going to hurt, and that piercing makes 90% of people who have it hideous. Who knows, you may not even want it in a few years.

PS: The fact you don't even know what that part is called (Septum, not septrum), doesn't sound too good on your part.

I am pretty sure that all states have 16 with consent and then 18 regardless of consent. And at that, your parents have to go with you. You need to bring a birth certificate if you don't look 16 and your parents need to show an ID.

I got a monroe and snakebites at 14 hun, I regret them so much. Now I have a really visible hole below my lip and the monroe scar is pretty noticeable too. I still have one ring left, but I wish my mom wouldn't of taken me.

Wait until you are 15, you just want the septum piercing because of a trend ;)

seeing as it is illegal to get your ears pierced under the age of 18 everywhere in the country, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to get a septum piercing at 13.
