Is it illegal to carry a penknife around in Britain?

I have a penknife which was given to me by my dad, i live in England and sometime i like to keep it with me when i go out, i'm not sure if this is illegal or not i mean i'm a 13 year old girl and i'm not going to go around killing anybody. Is it illegal to carry a penknife around with you?

I just like to have it, it's like a sense of pride for me because my dad gave it to me. I don't know why but i like to. x

I got a penknife for passing the 11+ 64yrs ago & still carry one to this day
I now use a swiss army knife always declare it at customs even during high alerts & have never had any bother
One customs officer measured the blade under 3" OK

If the blade does not exceed 3 inches then it's not illegal.

It all depends on the size of the actual blade..................but why do you feel the need to carry this with you ???? There's no need for you to have a pen knife in your pocket !!!
