If the medicine was prescribed to you, then yes it is illegal. If it is just general antibiotics that you get from a store, then it is fine.

If they were prescribed to you by your doctor, then you don't know what those antibiotics could do to him, because they were prescribed to you and only you.

**Edit: Many people have a severe allergy to Penicillin, so do not give this to him. It is illegal, and its better for him to be sick than to risk having an allergic reaction.

It may not be illegal, but it is not wise.
Since you don't know what is wrong your medication may hurt rather than help.

Firstly, you should have finished your course...the doctor should have explained this. I wouldn't give them to him as you don't know why he is ill. Throwing antibiotics at people when they don't need them will just make them immune.

This is a bad idea but it's not illegal.

You were supposed to finish your medicine to ensure that your infection was totally killed. Since you didn't, the infection is more likely to come back. That can also begin to create antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Next time, finish your prescription.

Penicillin is not as widely used as it used to be because it has lost effectiveness.

It may be dangerous to give someone a medicine because they may be allergic.

If he has a viral infection, antibiotics won't help anything.

The dosage may be wrong for him.

Basically, it might or might not help but it is generally considered to be stupid. No doctor would suggest doing this.

Asthma sufferers (in an emergency) often share puffers but antibiotics ... nuh-uh. What if he's allergic? What if .... Do you really want to risk it? Why not expend energy instead helping BF find some kind of cheap medical insurance? Surely something is available. Depends what he is ill with. No,Penicillin does not help everything. Antibiotics are only effective for a bacterial infection. If your BF has a virus,antibiotics aren't going to do anything.
Giving a medication that was prescribed for you to another person is illegal. You would be considered dispensing medication without a license. You have no idea what his allergies are or his overall medical condition.
Only a Doctor can give out medication. Take hm to one.

The problem with giving partial doses of antibiotics is that the bacteria will not be eradicated and in time will become resistant to the medications. Get him a full dosage and make sure to take it all, same for you do the full course of treatment in the future.
