I dont think it's illegal but it really depends on how big the room is which you have not stated. |

Yes you are what is called "statutorily overcrowded" - although I notice that it would seem this is due to actions taken by your local authority, nonetheless you should complain about this to the Council's Environmental health Office. |

if i were you i get to a solicitor now for legal advice, that just dont sound good at all one of your children are at the age of puberty and definatly should have privacy your council should be named and shamed! they make me so angry

by now the council should have supplied you with at least a 4 bedroom place, its not unreasonable for the 2 youngest to share but the other 2 are at an age where privacy is becoming important and they need their own space.
you should get on the phone and bend someone's ear, do it everyday until they sort you out. they give prisoners more room to live in. |

It isnt illegal, but extremely overcrowded. Surely you must be top of the housing list to be re-housed. You need to push for this by phoning everyday. Good luck. |

it is illegal. the rule is two hearbeats per pedroom. so you need at least 1 other room. |

yes. The 14yr old and 11yr old should be in a room each. Tell Social Services |

Maybe not illegal, but certainly inappropriate. The council has a duty to provide your family with a house with adequate space. |

It depends what state your in. I know some states make it illegal after the children turn 5. Check with the state you are in to find out. hope that helps a little. |
