Is it illegal to let a customer know when someone works?

I was in Town today and someone messed up on my transaction for my account and they told me only that person could help me undo it. So i asked for when that person worked next and some little idiot that thinks he knows everything (You know the kinda' guy) told the cashier not to tell me because it was against the law. Couldent even tell me a day when he worked so i could get it fixed. The "Little Idiot" also works there. My real question is, is it really against the law to tell someone (Customer) when (Employee) someone works? I live in West Virginia can someone actually tell me that knows exactly what there talking about?
