It is illegal to be present at a party with any underage drinking and/or drugs. You can be issued a ticket even if you did not partake in the illegal activities.
When I was a teen, there was a party across the street where a whole house full of teens got in trouble for underage drinking--even the teens that weren't drinking. The cops also called each parent over to the house and would not let ANY of the teens drive home. |

If you are aiding a minor in any manner you could be in serious legal trouble. Just being there means you could be charged with aiding a minor to drink. You might get charged with the crime a BIG hassle even if you get off. Every state has it's own rules but the drinking age is a FEDERAL crime as well! Be careful. |

totally against the law...if you are partying w/ a bunch of minors...and you are the only adult...it is assumed that you bought the alchohol...there is no getting out of that....the adult will always pay for teenage drinking...it's just not worth it... |

My ex-boyfriend was arrested for this actually. Being an adult at a party with underage drinking and illegal drugs, you will be held culpable for everything. Stay away from parties that involve illegal activities. |

Yes, your presence makes you a part of the scene. |

if you are legal age and at a party with underage drinking/drugs then you are responsible if the cops get called the you can get charged with contributing to minors, and prob. more then that, so yes it is illegal |

It'd really come down to your local state/county laws. In NSW, AU; it is illegal to sell alcohol to a minor (under 18), or provide it to one (buy it on their behalf). Legally, the minor can't be held responsible for drinking, and being in the company of a minor who is drinking isn't a crime either... |

yes it is, even heard of guilty by association? |

Ask yourself this. Is it illegal to be with someone who kills another person or just when you murder them yourself.
If you are around people while they are drinking or doing drugs or you are present while you know they are it's illegal. |

It's illegal to let them do it and not tell anyone |

Just participating, unless you are an adult there.
Though, usually the cops and your parents won't care about illegality. |

If you are of legal age the cops are going to say you know better |

Most likely you will be picked up with everyone else because the cops will assume you are participating...
Then comes the court & there is no black and white there and you can pretty much get away with it if you were not high or drunk(underage). |

im not much for laws. but im pretty sure you would still get in trouble for being there, just not as much as the people drinking. |

You are liable and if the party is interrupted by the police you will be off to jail along with the drinkers and users. You will be released if they do not find alcohol in your blood or if you did not take drugs. ....but you will be taken to jail along with the entire party goers. |

How would you have broken a law? If you haven't drunk or done drugs then you've done nothing wrong at all. |
