For health insurance, they are asking for this. I don't have a problem with them viewing them, and I have nothing to hide, I just don't think they need to keep copies.

I've done payroll for years and I've NEVER asked for a copy of any employee's children's birth certificates...this is NOT required to get health insurance through an employer.
If your employer is asking for this - tell them you're NOT allowed to give anyone, accept for a doctor or Social Security, a copy of your children's birth certificates. They either accept the info you give them or they get sued. |

If you don't like the policy of one company, you are free to go and work for a different one.
