Its not illegal to own a wooden pipe.. its what can be done with it that is illegal.. as long as there are no traces of illegal substance on it its fine to have.. and if there is trace substance.. its not enough to put a person in jail.. but may warrant more investigation.

Although it is not illegal to own one, if found with other drug paraphenelia it can be used to make a case against you in court.

I highly doubt its illegal but what would you want to do with it anyway. Im sure it would arouse suspicion but if you do not use it for its true purpose then i guess your ok

Here is where it becomes illegal to own it...
When you are stopped by an officer and you have pot...then the next offense you have is the drug paraphernalia...such as said bong...then your lighter or sandwich bag....and so on.
If you get a search warrant for your property....and they suspect you of selling or what have you...and all they find is that bong...as long as it hasn't been used you are ok...but nasty smelling and looks bad...again you are busted with drug paraphernalia.

Just to have a bong you are ok. But depending on the situation you are caught with the bong...you are looking at 2 to 3 years pending on what state you live in or up to 5 years of probation and drug rehab.
