At my place of work if they don't get enough volunteer's to work on Saturday they come up with making it mandatory on Saturday and Sunday or your fired they like to do that a lot
Is it right?

It depends upon your contract. On my work contract, it says overtime must be voluntary so it would be illegal to make me do forced overtime. It depends upon your own contract, get it out and have a read what it says regarding overtime and whether or not they can force you to do it. :) |

They can make you work overtime on Saturday or Sunday, but to fire you seems to be extreme. If you refuse to work an you call in they may fire you because of your attendance. If I were you I would be happy that you are working and don't complain too much about working on weekends. |

At my job it would be legal, our employee handbook says that ALL EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO WORK A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF OT. So they can't make you do it every weekend where I work, but they could make you work one day every weekend if we worked both. So what it comes down to is the rules you agreed to. |

Yes it is legal. If you dont volunteer then they can make it mandatory. Easy answer is to pick which day to do the OT. Next time it is needed someone else can do it. |
